The Invisible Second Patient

A Dementia Caregiver's Guide To Self Defence
The aim of this book is to empower carers. Particularly those who are caring for relatives with dementia. It is a sad fact of modern life that adult children are having to become carers in their fifties, sixties and seventies with little or no support from local authorities. Carers are devoting their time and financial resources to their relatives, putting their own health at risk to do a job for free that professionals would charge thousands of pounds to do. In this book I hope to empower carers by giving them information about the kinds of services that might help them. If you are caring for an elderly relative you may not be able to spend hours trawling the internet trying to find the one piece of information that you need. Hopefully, I've done that job for you by writing this book. Carers everywhere desperately need support because too often they become the invisible second patient.
